The Beijer JetCon 3401G, integrated and supported by Aquila, is an industrial 1000Base‑TX to SFP Gigabit Ethernet media converter designed for long‑distance, noise‑resilient communication in marine, offshore and industrial environments.

With its rugged, fanless design and operating temperature range from ‑40°C to +75°C, JetCon 3401G is well suited for control panels, bridge cabinets, machinery spaces and outdoor/plant locations where traditional IT‑grade equipment would struggle.
By converting copper Gigabit Ethernet to fiber via an SFP port, JetCon 3401G enables extended‑distance links, improved electromagnetic immunity and flexible fiber selection (single‑mode or multi‑mode, depending on SFP), helping operators build robust OT networks that connect ship systems, offshore modules and industrial control nodes with reliable, high‑bandwidth communication.

Key features

  • Industrial Gigabit media converter
    • 1 × 1000Base‑TX copper port
    • 1 × SFP slot for Gigabit fiber (SFP‑dependent: single‑mode or multi‑mode)
  • Designed for harsh environments, with operating temperature ‑40°C to +75°C
  • Enables long‑distance Ethernet extension over fiber for improved EMI immunity
  • Fanless, rugged mechanical design suitable for marine, offshore and industrial installations
  • Compact form factor for DIN‑rail or panel mounting in constrained cabinets
  • Ideal for bridging copper switches or devices to fiber backbones or remote segments

Typical Application

  • Marine & offshore
    • Extending bridge or control room Ethernet to engine rooms, equipment spaces or platform modules over fiber
    • Providing fiber uplink from local copper switches in navigation or automation networks
    • Noise‑resilient communication in high‑EMI zones (e.g., near drives, generators, switchboards)
  • Industrial & infrastructure
    • Long‑distance Ethernet links between control rooms and remote I/O cabinets
    • Fiber segments in plants, refineries, utilities and process facilities
    • Connecting PLCs, HMIs and SCADA nodes where copper distance or noise is a limitation
  • Retrofit & modernization
    • Upgrading existing copper‑only networks to fiber‑backed Gigabit connectivity
    • Introducing fiber redundancy or backbone capacity without replacing existing switches
    • Migration toward more robust, segmented OT network designs
